High Holy Days Information

We invite you to join us for High Holy Day Services at the Ethical Society Building, 1906 South Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia (unless otherwise noted). Services will be conducted by Rabbi Julie Greenberg with Rabbi Dayle Friedman.

Tickets are not required.  In lieu of tickets we suggest making a contribution for each adult attending. Please click on Contribution Form for a downloadable form.

For security purposes, advance registration is STRONGLY REQUESTED for all attendees, members and non-members. Please use this registration form.

Plan to arrive early! Seating is limited. 

PRE-REGISTRATION FOR YOM KIPPUR WILL BE OPEN UNTIL 10:00 AM ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8.  IF YOU ARE NOT PRE-REGISTERED, YOU ARE STILL WELCOME TO JOIN US BY SHOWING PHOTO ID UPON ARRIVAL.  THANK YOU AND SHANA TOVAH!

ROSH HASHANAH

  • Erev Rosh Hashanah Service Sunday, September 29 at 7:00 PM 
  • First Day Morning Service Monday, September 30 at 10:00 AM
  • Tashlich (with BZBI and Mekor Habracha) Monday, September 30 at 5:15 pm at Schuylkill Banks & Locust Street
  • Second Day Morning Service Tuesday, October 1 at 10:00 AM

YOM KIPPUR

  • Kol Nidre Service Tuesday, October 8 at 6:00 PM 
  • Morning Service Wednesday, October 9 at 10:00 AM
  • Yizkor/Memorial Service at approximately 2:00 PM
  • Learning Session - Stonewall: Being There Changed My Life at 4:30 PM
  • Mincha/Neilah at 5:30 - 7:15 PM followed by a light break fast

      If you would like your loved ones to be memorialized in our Yizkor book, to be distributed at the Yom Kippur Yizkor Service, please complete and return this Yizkor FormWe must receive your information no later than Friday, September 20, to be included in the book.

      CAN YOU HELP?

      We need volunteers to assist with greeting and checking in our guests.  You can help by taking a shift or two.  Each shift is 1 to 1-1/2 hours.  Contact Frann at frannshore@gmail.com.  Members and non-members are welcome to help out.

      PARKING INFORMATION

      Parking permits for limited on-street parking can be downloaded and printed. They will also be available on a first come, first served basis at the at the Ethical Society Building before each service. Please note that on-street parking is extremely limited and fills up quickly.  Please plan to arrive early if you intend to park on the street.
