Membership

Leyv Ha-Ir~Heart of the City is a growing congregation with approximately 50 individual and family members. A typical Shabbat service is attended by 30-40 people. Holiday celebrations have had as many as 200.

 

Non-members are welcome to attend our services and programs, but members become part of the Leyv Ha-Ir family and can be actively invoclved in its committees and meetings.

 

Membership goes from July 1st to June 30th and is renewed annually*. Members paying in full by August 31st will receive a special gift. Our current dues structure is as follows:

• • Suggested Individual Membership: $500 - $1000/year
• • Suggested Couple/Family Membership: $750 - $1500/year

 

Members pay according to their abilities—we never turn anyone away. Dues and contributions to Congregation Leyv Ha-Ir are tax deductible.

*Membership definition: A member is a person, family, or household that (1) pays dues within the pre-specified range or completes a discussion about dues abatement with the designated Leyv Ha-Ir person(s); and (2) declares that they want to be a member via a membership form or other means. Membership is on an annual basis consistent with our fiscal year, from July 1st to June 30. An annual membership list will be compiled and distributed to all members.
