Kohenet Yedid Shapiro will lead us in this exploration.  Winter invites us to both embrace the dark and cultivate the light. In this three-part journey, we’ll weave together song and Torah study to explore how light and darkness appear across the Jewish canon—and what these teachings can illuminate in our own lives.

Each class will include both text study and communal singing.

Session One: Sacred Dark
We will explore traditions, texts, and melodies that honor the generative, sheltering, and mysterious qualities of darkness.

The other sessions will be on February 16 and February 26 at the same time.  All classes will be on Zoom.

Leyv Ha-Ir members will automatically receive the Zoom information.  Guests are welcome and must register to receive the Zoom information.  A donation from guests of $18 is requested, although not required, to support our programming. There is no charge for members to attend.
